New Year's Day on the Sarsi
1 Jan 1947 Here it is New Year's Morn, Neath a clean Polar Sky A Bright New Year for the U.S.S. Sarsi is born, Moored portside to permanent pier The weather is fine and the air is clean. From here at the Naval Air Station is seen The flickering lights of Kodiak, Alaska beam.
I must assume that service in the Aleutians had its dull moments.
